Massage, You Know You Want One !

Barefoot Shiatsu:

Literally, Shiatsu means

 finger (shi) pressure (atsu).

In general, Shiatsu is a stimulation

of the body with the hands and fingers. Barefoot Shiatsu is done

on the floor on a mat.

The client is required to wear loose fitting  clothing. This makes barefoot Shiatsu an excellent option for

anyone who is uncomfortable

with the traditional table

massage. In barefoot Shiatsu

the therapist uses not only hands

and fingers but, elbows,

knees and feet.

Barefoot Shiatsu works with

 the twelve energy pathways

that are known as meridians.

These meridians correspond with internal organs, muscle groups,

body functions and emotions.

By using acupressure, deep

breathing and stretching

techniques the goal is to

stimulate the meridians and

 bring the body into balance.
